VBS is a fun place for children 4 years old (by June 1, 2010) through 5th grade (grade completed).  The theme this year is SonQuest Rainforest, where we will follow Jesus on a life-changing adventure.  As we go through the week, together we will learn what it means to Get It! Get Found!  Get God’s Love!  Get Praying!  And Get Going!  We hope you will join the other explorers as we set out on an adventure of a lifetime!  As we participate in fun-filled activities, children will learn about God’s amazing love and His Word, the Bible! We will have a great time with lively songs, hilarious skits, creative crafts, exciting games, Bible stories and tasty snacks— all of the things that make Vacation Bible School so much fun for children.

Middle School Sports Camp is for students who have completed 6th—8th grades.  They work on developing skills which will enhance their sports enjoyment.  They also have a time of Bible study, friend-building activities and snacks each day.  The Sports Camp is directed by Pastor David Carlton.

Hours and Dress Code
VBS is June 21-25, from 9:00am-12:15pm each day.  Children need to be in their assigned rows in the sanctuary no later than 9:00am for the Opening Assembly, except on Monday, when children need to be in their seats by 8:45am.  We ask that you do not pick up your child until the end of the Closing Assembly at 12:15pm, each day.  
Children need to wear their VBS shirt (see below), shorts, socks, and gym shoes each day.

Class Size
For safety and educational reasons, we are limiting each grade/age level to 45 students.  If your child’s class is full when you register, you will be placed on a waiting list.  As soon as a space is available, you will be called.  If you register and discover you cannot attend VBS, please let the church office know as soon as possible so your space may be given to another student.  Any children who do not attend VBS on Monday, June 21, without prior notification to the church office, will have their space reassigned to a child on the waiting list.

Dismissal Instructions
Children in 1st-5th grades will need to be picked up on the front lawn of the church.  They will be standing with their leaders waiting for their parents.  Please pick up younger children before getting elementary-aged children.
4 yr. old - Kindergarten students will need to be picked up by their parents or an assigned adult (Not Older Siblings) from their assigned rows in the sanctuary.  Children will be dismissed by age group.  Please wait until your child’s age group is announced before picking up your child. 

T-Shirts
Children will be given a T-shirt to wear the week of VBS.  T-shirts can be picked up on Sundays in June following the 10:30am worship service or at the church office June 14—18, 9:00am- 4:00pm.  Please register early for VBS, due to the requirements of our vendor, we cannot guarantee T-shirts for children who register after June 14.

Snacks
Sweet Soil (Pudding with oreo cookies/jelly beans/gummy worms); Cheesy Sheep (Oval crackers w/whipped cream cheese, shredded jack cheese, pretzel sticks, raisins); Mini Pizzas; Cookies; and Nachos on the Go.
(If you think your child is allergic to one of the snacks we will be serving, please provide a snack for your child on that day. Bring the snack in a labeled bag to the kitchen.)

Mission Project
There is no charge for VBS.  However, an offering will be collected each day towards a Mission Project.  Children will receive detailed information about the Mission Project on Monday of VBS.

VBS Closing Program and VBS Sunday
Friday, June 25, 6:30-8:00pm, in the Sanctuary.  The children will be presenting a musical program highlighting the week’s activities.  Refreshments will follow the musical.  The children need to wear their T-shirts and arrive by 6:10pm.  
Sunday, June 28,710:30am Worship service.  The children will be participating in the worship service.  They will need to wear their T-shirts and arrive by 10:10am to sit in their assigned seats  The morning will end with lunch in the backyard.

Children with Hearing Impairments
We have several interpreters to help children with hearing impairments participate fully in VBS.  Please check the appropriate box on your child’s registration form if you need an interpreter.  You will be contacted prior to VBS to find out any special needs your child may have.
