Our Caring Adult Ministry arranges birthday party celebrations at church or at home for members of Palos Community Church who are turning 90. This is one way the church shows its love and appreciation of church members who have faithfully served the Lord and our congregation for many years.
Another service provided by the Caring Adult Ministry is visitation and fellowship with members of the church who are homebound because of advanced age. The goal of homebound visitation is to bring Christian love, encouragement, and enjoyment to the elderly of our church who are now travel restricted. An opportunity to take part in Holy Communion can also be provided during a visit.
When we visit a homebound church member we let the person know they have not been forgotten by the church they loyally worked to sustain for so many years. With our visit we help them remember that God is real and he cares about them. We remind our advanced age members that they are valued for their life experience and wisdom. We could be the one to help a homebound person grow in their faith. They could be the one to help us grow in our faith. If you have a heart to serve the elderly in this way, you are urged to take part in the Caring Adult Ministry - Homebound Visitation Team.
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10
